Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Jena, Germany — known as “The Optical Valley of Germany” — siOPTICA™ brings together deep optical engineering expertise with a truly international footprint, with team members based in Jena, Kaohsiung, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, and Paris.
Together, our team holds more than 350 man-years of experience in the optical industry. siOPTICA™ has filed so far more than 350 protective rights within 120 patent families with 160+ patents already granted in international markets including the US, Japan, Europe, China, Korea, Taiwan, and Germany.

Dr. Heinrich Hiesinger
was a member of the Board of Management of Siemens AG, as well CEO of the Industry Sector and was responsible for the central department Corporate Information Technology. From 2011 to 2018 he was CEO of the material and technology company ThyssenKrupp AG. He is currently a member of the supervisory boards of BMW AG and Deutsche Post DHL Group.
Dr. Yi-Hsin Lin
is a Distinguished Professor, Director in Tin-Ka-Ping Photonics Center, and joint appointment Prof in Dept of Dentistry at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University(NYCU). She is a board member of Taiwan Photonic Society(since 2019) & in Taiwan Liquid Crystal Society(since 2007). She was elected as and SPIE fellow in 2022, OSA fellow in 2021. Prof. Lin received many more awards from highly reputable institutions. She is associate editor or in editorial board in many journals.
Dr. Lou Hermans
was the managing partner at Capital-E II VC fund from 2017 to 2024. He co-founded CMOSIS in 2007 and FillFactory in 2000, both companies operating in the CMOS image sensor business, where he was responsible for business development. From 2006 to 2008, he served as Strategic Business Manager in IMEC’s MCP Division. Before joining FillFactory, he held several positions at IMEC. Lou holds a Ph.D. in Physics. Currently, he is the President of the Industry Association Flanders Semiconductors v.z.w.
